Our client, Tony, has a huge shed on his property. He built it to store all of his awesome toys! He built openings to be able to get his toys in and out, and needed garage doors to fit his custom space.
The openings are 12×14, which are very big! The challenge was that Tony wanted to avoid the commercial garage door look, and wanted instead doors that looked more residential.
Once we decided on the door style and color, we ordered the panels so we could install them! Below are the panels loaded up on the truck on their way to Tony’s house!
Don’t the new doors look amazing? We were able to find panels to fit the space and look like they could be installed on a residential home.
We included 2 panels of windows on the doors as well. This helps with the residential look. But it also serves a practical purpose as it brings in great natural light during the day. If Tony wants to be in his garage or work on his toys, he doesn’t need to open the doors if he doesn’t want to and he can still get great light.
As we do with most installations on tall doors for spaces that are custom, we installed Jack Shaft garage door openers. Tony chose the LiftMaster 8500. Jack shaft openers mount to the wall of a garage instead of the ceiling. This is great for tall spaces like this or garage door high lift installations.
The doors themselves are insulated, 24 gauge thick metal doors and come with a lifetime warranty against cracks and rust. This is a perfect deal for someone like Tony who is using his garage for a lot!
