Our client, Drew, bought his very first home! He was really excited and got to work on a few remodeling projects.
On his list was changing the size of his garage door to accommodate his beautiful RV. Until the remodel, he had paid to have this RV stored at a storage facility. While this was fine in the short term, Drew wanted the flexibility to park his RV inside his garage and have it close to home.
The benefits to parking your RV at home are numerous. For one, it makes packing up when you are off on a trip much easier. You can also control the security of your own property, on your own property. Working on the RV is a lot more comfortable as well when it’s stored at home. You can perform weekend projects or maintenance without the hassle of getting it from the storage yard, bringing it home and then returning it again.
Here is Drew’s garage door before we got to work.
Drew gave us a call to help him adjust the height of the garage. The opening was 16′ wide, which was fine but he almost needed to double the height, from 7′ to 12′.
We ordered the correct size door and go to work creating the taller opening.
Later that week, we were able to install his new 12-foot sectional garage door!
We also installed a LiftMaster Jack Shaft garage door opener. The jackshaft opener mounts to the wall instead of the traditional placement overhead on the ceiling. Additionally, we installed high lift tracks. The combination of the jackshaft opener and the high lift tracks will give Drew and his RV max clearance overhead to park as comfortably as possible in the new space.
The new door looks great!
All that is left to do is touch up the paint and move those light sconces and Drew is good to go!
