Debbie was getting ready to sell her beautiful home in Jacksonville, Miami .
One thing she knew she needed to do was update her exterior before putting her home on the market. To achieve this, she needed to switch out her garage doors, put in new garage door openers, and then finally paint her house a fresh color.
You can see in the picture above, that her old wood doors were very old. In fact, they are over 30 years old! Her garage door openers were a similar age.
One important factor in updating not just the doors, but the openers as well, is that openers made before 1993 don’t have the mandatory auto reverse feature. This means that if an object (or person) is in the path of the closing garage door, the door will automatically reverse when it senses it.
Updating your garage door opener if you don’t have this feature is a must!
Here is a great view of the doors from the inside:
And here is that 30+ year old opener. What a pretty color!
Debbie didn’t have many things she wanted in a new garage door. She wanted the style of the door to compliment her home’s design. And she wanted doors that were durable and good quality.
Debbie chose Clopay garage doors, in their T52 model. We included plain windows up at the top for a nice compliment to the many large windows around the house.
We ordered 2 garage doors: a two car garage door and a 1 car garage door. The windows really make these shine!
Debbie chose LiftMaster openers, this model. The opener is a 1/2 HP chain drive model, which is strong and affordable! Affordability is key when you are putting your home on the market.
What a difference some paint and garage doors make. This home is ready to sell!
