We recently installed these beautiful Clopay doors for clients Roger and Meg in Miami.
They called us for the job as they had plans to paint the exterior of their home, and they wanted to get professionals in to paint their garage doors to match.
The original goal was to paint the garage doors only, as a way to give a fresh look with new paint for the entire exterior.
However, on our initial visit and inspection, we saw the existing garage doors were not looking so good. The overlay was falling a part due to sun exposure.
Their garage doors were also not balanced properly. The torsion springs were very old, and all of the door’s hardware was not doing it’s job to carry the weight of the door, including the rollers, hinges and their cables.
When we priced out addressing the issues of the existing garage doors (spring replacement + repairing a damaged panel) plus paint vs. installing brand new garage doors, Roger and Meg decided to go with the latter option.
Since the decision was to install new doors, that meant the homeowners had to decide which doors to go with.
Their wish list included doors that were low maintenance, durable, quiet, and stylish!
We wanted to also choose doors that went with the style of the house. The house would be repainted, but the “style” of the home including windows and architectural details, weren’t changing.
We wanted to ensure the new garage doors went with the style of the home.
We landed on the Clopay gallery series garage doors in a dark oak finish, which would compliment the new house color.
We also installed some additional iron hardware for a custom look!
These doors are great for this home that gets a lot of direct sun exposure. Clopay also gives a lifetime warranty on their paint system, so it’s a perfect option for a Miami home!
