Our customer, Anthony, has a great piece of property outside of Miami. He has a lot of vehicles and decided it was finally time to build a garage to store them all in.
He built a big, amazing metal garage on his property to house the vehicles. The last part of this project was finding garage doors to complete the project.
The garage he built is 10 feet wide and has a 14-foot high opening. We needed to install doors to not only fit this space, but garage doors that would be durable to withstand the environment and protect his property. Anthony does not like the commercial garage door look, so our challenge was to find doors that looked “residential” despite the large size needed.
The other requirement Anthony had was the ability to have natural light come into the garage, even when the doors were closed. He had the option to install all glass doors, but he doesn’t like this style so it wasn’t really an option to begin with.
We were able to find garage doors that can be customized for this large size, that have the residential look Anthony wanted. There was an option to also purchase and install panels with windows to this garage door model. So we were able to get the natural light Anthony wanted, and the look he wanted too!
The doors are 24 gauge garage doors with a window panel. We installed 2 LiftMaster 8500 Jack Shaft garage door openers as well. Jack Shaft garage door openers mount to the wall, not the ceiling, of a garage so it allows for maximum clearance. Jack Shaft openers can be installed in this situation, in commercial applications, or residential.
It wasn’t an easy job, but it looks great and Anthony loves his new doors. And that’s all that matters!
